Say Hello to our most special collection. 

 

Zηνοβια (Zinovia), is a collection created in memory of Athanasia's great-aunt. A strong woman, who helped raise her and who passed away recently.

Ζηνοβια was the third of 4 girls and a son, born into a poor family in a remote village on the island of Cyprus. She and a sister were chosen to be taken out of primary school, and sent as labourers into homes in the nearby city, working and sending money back to their family. Ζηνοβια left home and was working from a very young age continuously until her retirement. Although she never learned to read or write, she was excellent with numbers. She helped raise Athanasia's mother and Athanasia herself.

This memorial series was borne out of a need to create during a period of mourning. We hope you can feel the love and care imbued in these pieces, as they are very special to us.
